Administrators appointed at Yorkshire firm with business and assets for sale
Regent Envelopes has gone into administration, with 60 staff being made redundant, just eight months after the company acquired the assets and business of Yorkshire Envelopes.
Administrators were appointed on 26 July, with the official notice appearing in the London Gazette on Friday, 28 July, stating that David Antony Willis, Mark Hodgett, and Philip Edward Pierce, of FRP Advisory Trading Ltd, were joint administrators.
Clients of the envelope manufacturer based in Shipley, West Yorkshire, included many greeting card publishers and they have received emails this week stating: “Unfortunately and unexpectedly Regent Envelopes Ltd & Regent Envelope (Sales) Ltd have entered administration. Please direct any emails to regentenvelopeslimited@frpadvisory.com.”
PG Buzz understands the company, where the current directors are Andrew Crankshaw, Ian Dyson, David Regan, and Thomas Regan, ceased trading before the administrators were appointed, and they will actively market the businesses and assets for sale, with interested parties advised to contact Mark Rowlands at Sanderson Weatherall’s Leeds office. A small number of staff has been retained to assist an orderly wind down.
Regent Envelopes had more the 36 years’ experience in the envelope manufacturing industry offering coloured greeting card envelopes, stationery envelopes, gifting envelopes, marketing & direct mail envelopes and bespoke services.
In November 2022 it united two of the region’s most well-established specialist greeting card envelope manufacturers by acquiring the business and assets of Yorkshire Envelopes.
