Moonpig’s breast-ever range

Make a tit of yourself with online retailer’s magnificent melon cards

Moonpig has joined with ITV show Lorraine to launch one of its breast-ever ranges in support of the programme’s Change + Check campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Full of cheeky phrases, punny one-liners and fruit galore, the range is aimed at getting everyone giving their melons a squeeze and making a tit of themselves to save their own lives by catching any breast cancer changes early.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, presenter Lorraine Kelly dedicated this morning’s show, 4 October, to the Check + Change campaign, highlighting its aim of promoting regular checks for the signs and symptoms of breast cancer.

Lorraine producer Helen Addis, who started the campaign four years ago, was filmed visiting the Moonpig offices, and she explained that the cards feature an illustration on the backs showing the changes to look out for, as well as a QR code which takes you straight to an easy-to-follow guide on how to check yourself.

With one woman being diagnosed with breast cancer every 10 minutes in the UK, adding up to around 55,000 people a year, one in seven women, checking for signs of breast cancer is crucial for early detection and ultimately saving lives. So, get squeezing those melons, and get your friends and family squeezing too!

Moonpig said: “While creating the range we met with breast cancer survivors to hear their stories and get their support, including Helen, the woman who started it all after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018.

Helen said: “Chatting to my friends throughout my 18 months of treatment, I was amazed at how many of them didn’t check their boobs. Breast cancer can happen to anybody – men and women, young and old – which is why people need to get to know their bodies better so they can spot any signs of change.”

She also hopes that people who receive the cards will not only check their own breasts but will send a card to a family member or friend, helping to spread the message far and wide and ultimately, save lives.
