Ex-Argos multi-channel director joins greetings giant to further ‘strategic ambitions’
Card Factory has appointed ex-Argos and Homebase multi-channel director Indira Thambiah as non-executive director as part of the giant greetings retailer’s “strategic ambitions”.
Company chairman Paul Moody said: “We are delighted to welcome Indira to the board of Card Factory plc. Indira brings extensive multichannel and retail experience, both nationally and internationally, with insights from a range of businesses which will benefit Card Factory and its board committees, as we pursue our strategic ambitions.”
Qualified chartered accountant Indira took up her new post on 1 September, becoming a member of the retailer’s remuneration, audit and risk, and nomination committees, but does not currently hold any Card Factory shares.
Her previous roles include head of multi-channel for Argos and Homebase owner Home Retail Group, and European vice-president at online sales marketplace Zulily, and she has managed a number of private businesses, most recently Roof-Maker as ceo from 2018 to 2022, and has also been an independent non-executive director and member of the remuneration committee at both Superdry and Yorkshire Building Society.
Last year, Card Factory appointed former Asda chief financial officer Robert McWilliam as an independent non-executive director.
