Thortful Spreads The Love To The NHS, Through Flowers And Radio Activity

Online greeting card operator Thortful is going for it this Valentine’s Day, spreading the love in a number of directions – through an initiative to support NHS workers, a diversification into fresh flowers as well as via a radio campaign.

Having supported the NHS throughout the pandemic, through providing PPE, creating special thank you cards as well as offering a discount to NHS workers, Thortful is now looking to raise funds for NHS/mental health charities as well as encourage consumers to send some specially created Valentine’s Day cards direct to hospitals to show they care.

The designs for the NHS Valentine’s Day collection came as a result of issuing a creative challenge to Thortful’s own creators as well as those in the world at large through the One Minute Briefs platform.

The response has been overwhelming and the designs are now being made into cards by Thortful. All of the profits from this range of cards will be split between NHS Charities Together and mental health charity Chasing the Stigma.

Commenting on the initiative Andy Pearce, founder and ceo of Thortful said: “We want to show our support and love for all of the NHS staff working so hard throughout the pandemic and, with the distressing news this week that mental health is deteriorating amongst frontline NHS workers, it’s more important than ever to demonstrate how much we love them.”

With Valentine’s Day due to take place during the UK’s third lockdown, thortful.com has branched into offering fresh flower deliveries for the first time.

Customers are now able to add a bouquet of flowers (two options are available) to their basket when purchasing a card, with the total RRP of £46.99 plus postage which includes an A5 card.

Commenting on the new product launch, Andy added “Cards and flowers are a natural marriage, particularly for key occasions like Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. We wanted to be able to be a one-stop shop for our customers and offer them a seamless service where they didn’t have to shop around for separate products.”

Thortful is also taking to the airwaves, launching its largest ever radio campaign with Bauer Media stations KISS, Magic Radio and Absolute Radio. It has just introduced a card design competition.

The campaign sees teams of presenters from each station – including Ronan Keating, Jordan Banjo, Perri Kiely and Dave Berry – compete against each other to create their own Valentine’s Day cards with the help of Thortful mentors.

All cards will be unveiled online on Monday 1February, where the radio listeners will be able to vote for their favourite design. All voters will be in with a chance of

winning a prize worth £2,000 courtesy of Thortful, plus a personal card from the winning show.
