Let’s face it, there has not been a surfeit of good news of late, so when 70 greeting card publishers discovered last Friday (September 11) that their card and wrap ranges had made it into the finals of The Henries, or that they themselves were highlighted as one of the Most Promising Young Designers in the whole UK card industry (https://www.pgbuzz.net/its-official-the-henries-2020-product-finalists-are-revealed/), there were some understandable joyful proclamations.
Having whetted your appetite with a serving of happiness (https://www.pgbuzz.net/smile-alert-rapturous-reactions-from-the-henries-product-finalists/) treat yourself to a ‘second helping’ of unadulterated positivity that deserves to be shared…
“Woo Hoo! This is amazing news!! We are so happy as we thought we couldn’t top last year’s nominations. We were overwhelmed and rather emotional to see we had done it again, we are both really grateful to every single retailer who voted for us! Thanks for still managing to pull it all together despite the circumstances.” – Claire Williams and Karen Wilson, co-owners of Paper Salad
“We are over the moon to have a Henries 2020 nomination for our Christmas Pack Collection – it feels like Santa’s already visited! Huge hugs from a happy studio.” – Lucy Creed and Bryn Dineen, the clever duo behind Poet and Painter

“Fantastic news! I think it shows how far we have come in such a short time. Fingers are all crossed for the finals! – Paul Urban, managing director of Kingfisher Cards
“This is amazing news. I’m now a mum of three young boys, only giving birth to my youngest at the end of 2019. So, finding time to design these ranges has been a challenge. Working until 3am has now become my ‘new normal’ and I’m proud to call myself a ‘mumtrepreneur’. Being nominated for two awards just shows that all my hard work and commitment has paid off. Best wishes as sunshine smiles.” – Adriana Lovesy, founder of Mrs Lovesy.
“This is simply amazing! To have three of our collections shortlisted for their respective categories is wonderful. We knew the competition would be so fierce given the standard of our greeting card industry and we celebrated pretty hard when the email came through! A big thank you to everyone who voted for us – it means so much to us both.” – Rebecca and Mark Crouch, co-owners of Raspberry Blossom

“I’m so happy to be a finalist this year! I hadn’t checked my emails on announcement day as I was taking the day off so when my Mum called asking how I was celebrating I thought I’d forgotten someone’s birthday! The happiest news after such a strange year! Thanks to everyone who voted for my cards.” – Louise Mulgrew of Louise Mulgrew
“I’m so excited to be one of the finalists for Best Photographic Range among what I consider to be seasoned professionals. This is the best thing that’s happened this year I’m truly over the moon – I keep looking at the list in disbelief!
Surrounded by companies who have been doing this a lot longer than I have makes me feel slightly out of my depth, but it feels amazing to be a finalist!” – Alex Sharp, founder of Alex Sharp Photography
“We’re so thrilled to be nominated as a finalist! It’s such positive news from what has been a challenging year. We are super grateful for all that voted. A BIG Thank You! It’s really encouraging and gives us that extra little boost for the rest of this year :)” – Anna and Troy Nelson, co-owners of Rosanna Rossi

“Blooming heck, 9 nominations – we’re over the moon!!! So sad we won’t get a ‘big old knees-up’ to celebrate though. I’m praying 2021 is a kinder year for all of us!” – Kate Leach, head of marketing of Woodmansterne Publications
“Thank you for the wonderful news, that we were so glad to hear. We are all experiencing a very different year, this definitely cheers us up, thank you again.” Jiawen Xu founder of Alljoy Design
And this is just a taster…lots more to come…
