Cherry Orchard Publishing’s And Indie Retailer Papilio At Heritage’s Fundraisers For The WWF Bushfire Appeal

Greeting card publisher, Cherry Orchard Publishing and independent retailer Papilio at Heritage in Thornbury have both launched initiatives to raise funds to support the WWF Bushfire Emergency Appeal.

Cherry Orchard Publishing is launching a raffle, with the chance to win a signed, framed original pencil drawing by the publisher’s creative director Beverley Fisher, featuring a koala bear.

Beverley is also to raise further funds through selling limited edition prints of the work of art. Anyone interested can make contact through Cherry Orchard or via Beverley’s Facebook page.

Meanwhile, Tabi Marsh, owner of Papilio at Heritage, an independent shop cum café in Thornbury in Gloucestershire was inspired to do something to help as soon as Rose Trow, agent for Jellycat showed her Benji, the new koala plush from the company.

“I decided to donate 10% from every sale of the full size koala to the WWF Bushfire Emergency Appeal, advertising it in store as well as on our Instagram feed. On the first day alone I ended up posting a Benji to Preston,” said Tabi.

These two industry initiatives add to the good work already underway at Wrendale Designs as previously covered on PG Buzz (https://www.pgbuzz.net/wrendale-designs-has-raised-16000-in-two-days-for-the-wwf-australia-appeal/). Hannah Dale, the co-owner and creative maestro behind the company created a special piece of artwork, of a koala mother and baby, asking people to make a donation to the WWF fund to help the mammoth rescue operation necessitated by the raging bushfires. All donators are in with a chance of winning the original art.

Wrendale has already raised over £21,000 as a result of Hannah’s efforts.
