Carousel Calendars is both safeguarding and celebrating the planet with the packaging and signings for its 2020 calendar portfolio.
Among the titles that are bound to pique the consumer’s interest is Carousel Calendar’s Sea Change calendar that has been created in collaboration with the Marine Conservation Society, a leading marine charity dedicated to protecting the seas around the UK through the creation of well-managed protected areas.
Forming part of Carousel Calendars’ own commitments to reducing plastic waste, following trials of a new packaging idea to replace the outer shrinkwrap for an easily-recyclable cardboard envelope, the Sea Change title was a clear choice for this new approach. It joins several other calendars in the Carousel range to be adopting this packaging.
The Sea Change calendar promotes the work that the Marine Conservation Society does with pages packed with information, including statistics that highlight the plight, quotes from famous environmentalists, scientists and advisors, and tips and tasks that provide clear and easy to follow advice on how to reduce reliance on plastics and non-recyclable materials.
Carousel’s change in packaging is part of the company’s wider environmental commitments. These include looking at what other materials can be used as packaging, or even removing packaging altogether; aiming to make all the company’s plastic packaging reusable or recyclable; and removing plastic wherever possible, such as the four-tonne reduction that has come as a result of replacing its box calendar stands to those made from cardboard.
While the Sea Change title highlights the beauty and fragility of life under the water, another of Carousel’s latest signings for 2020 stays above ground.
This Saturday (August 17) marks the official launch of Carousel’s Bird Photographer of the Year Calendar at Bird Fair 2019, which takes place at Rutland Water. The winning photographer will be there to sign copies following the formal award ceremony and prize giving for all the prize winners, led by head judge Chris Packham.
Bird Photographer of the Year (BPOTY) is a global photographic competition which is a celebration of avian beauty and diversity.
