Leeds-based card publisher Wendy Jones-Blackett is well known for scoring highly on the card racks – as evidenced by its ranges reaching the finals in The Henries again this year, in two categories (www.pgbuzz.net/the-henries-2019-finalists-revealed/) – but it seems it is also a successful superstar spotter on the football pitch too.
Wendy Jones-Blackett has been sponsoring Holly Orr, who has been playing for Leeds United’s girl’s team, but such is her prowess at the game that she is turning professional next season, having made it in to the ladies team as their youngest player, at just 16.
“As we have seen with the success and popularity of the Lionesses in the recent World Cup, ladies football is a hot topic. We are so proud of Holly, she is a real superstar,” said Wendy Jones-Blackett, who co-owns the company with her husband Steve.
Ensuring that its greeting card portfolio is in line with the greater inclusivity of the ‘beautiful game’, when designing a football design for its Fresco range, Wendy explained that she incorporated “a variety of colours within it so that it could be sent to anyone.”
