Cardgains Strides Forth With Its 30th Anniversary Celebrations

This Thursday (June 20) sees around 30 hardy cardies put their best foot forward to embark on the Almscliff Anniversary Amble, a grueling 30 mile (or 30km) walk in West Yorkshire in aid of the Sue Ryder charity as part of Cargains’ buying group’s 30th anniversary celebrations.

There is still time to donate which is certain to add extra encouragement to the card publishers, retailers and Cardgains’ teammates who are participating.

This year Cardgains is aiming to raise £30,000 for the Sue Ryder charity, which supports people through the most difficult times of their lives (offering palliative, neurological and bereavement support) https://www.sueryder.org

Meanwhile as the walkers prepare for their mega walk, Cardgains, at the halfway point of its celebratory is going great guns.

Its programme of anniversary prize draws, supported by many of its publisher and gift suppliers has seen its indie members win hotel stays (from Words ‘n’ Wishes and History & Heraldry), a balloon ride (Abacus), a Fortnum and Mason hamper (Xpressions 4U), a case of champagne (Xystos) and a flat screen TV (Sarunds).

Penny Shaw, marketing director of Cardgains is also delighted by the uptake of the £30 trial packs being offered to Cardgains’ members by 13 suppliers with some 555 trial packs having been redeemed.

“The trial packs are proving a fantastic opportunity for members with some offering a RRP return of over £150 for only a £30 investment,” states Penny.  The trials offer members the chance to buy new products from suppliers they haven’t previously traded with.  “We encourage them to display in a blocks or two rows and tell customers it’s new product to the store.  Happy to say there have been several follow up full orders where the trial has been successful.
