Chocs Away For Rosanna Rossi’s 10th Anniversary Celebrations At PG Live

Rosanna Rossi has come up with a ‘sweet’ way of marking the greeting card company’s 10th anniversary.

The first 10 buyers to place an order with the publisher at PG Live (Tuesday 4 June and Wednesday 5 June on Stand 431) will receive an impressive presentation bag of gorgeous handmade chocolates specially made by a chocolate shop in the Cotswolds, close to where the publisher is based.

The company was founded by mother and daughter team Filippa Whitford and Anna Nelson. Following a change in career as an interior textile designer that Anna joined forces with her mother Filippa who worked within the greeting cards industry as a fine artist. “We both love design and high-quality paper goods, and began creating our own collections combining both styles on to greeting cards,” explains Anna.

The name Rosanna Rossi derives from a play on sibling names ‘Rosalba’ and ‘Anna’, Rossi is the Italian maiden name of co-founder Filippa.

The family connection has been strengthened further with Troy Nelson, Anna’s husband coming into the business.

Anna shares some of the highlights and a few lowlights of the company’s first decade.

What have the highlights been?:

“Building a strong relationship with our suppliers, agents, distributors and loyal customers, for which we are hugely grateful.

Moving to a new office with picturesque views across the Cotswold hills. It’s a joy working amongst such an inspiring landscape.

Spending a few years in Australia and gaining a fresh outlook on the business.

Being nominated in 2014 as a finalist in the ‘Most Promising Young Designer‘ category at The Henries Awards.”

And what about the lowlights?:

“There was a stage during the early days where things got a little tough and second guessed ourselves. Fortunately we learnt from the tough periods and used these experiences as lessons to build and improve.”

What advice would give yourself now?:

“Be more brave and confident with your creative style. Trust your instinct as more often than not, it’s always right!”
