Certain to add to the buzz of banter at this weekend’s Noted: The Greeting Card Expo show in Brooklyn (which takes place 18-20 May) is the news that Designer Greetings has acquired the world-renowned photographic greeting card company Palm Press.
This continues the acquisitive activity of New York-based, Designer Greetings, which is now one of the largest card greeting card companies in North America.
Palm Press was founded in 1980 by Liz Bordow and has gained respect over the years for its collection of greeting cards based on exceptional photographs from around the world, with a quirky, humorous twist.
Designer Greetings is now one of the largest publishers in North America have grown organically as well as through acquisition. Palm Press marks the company’s 12th acquisition since 2006. In addition to its recent takeover of Kristan Michaels Greetings a few months ago, other acquisitions include Card$mart, Glitterwrap, Red Farm Studio, Royal Greetings, enGreet, Treasure Greetings, Mikes Distributing, Northern Exposure, The Madison Park Group and V&M Sales.
Commenting on the latest addition to the Designer Greetings’ fold, Steve Gimbelman, president and ceo of the group explained that Palm Press has marked its mark by sourcing renowned, distinctive photographers from around the globe and Designer Greetings will continue that legacy. “Liz Bordow built an incredible company, starting in her house in 1980. Palm Press is now one of the leading photographic greeting card companies in the world. We look forward to building on the success that Liz forged.”
The addition of Palm Press means that Designer Greetings’ portfolio now spans over 22,000 greeting card designs.
Designer Greetings is one of the exhibitors at the first ever Noted: The Greeting Card Expo which takes place this weekend (May 18-19) at the Brooklyn Expo Center.
