Bluebell 33 Commits To Pioneering Sustainability

Bluebell 33, the Weybridge-based card and gift company, has upped its environmental credentials, both in the materials it is using as well as production process.

“We are pioneering better sustainability throughout the business,” Tim Clark, director of Bluebell 33 told PG Buzz. “We want to be kinder to the planet,” he added, explaining that investment in an in-house hand-foiling facility is very much part of this as is its choice of board on which its cards are printed.

All the cards are printed on GF Smith’s Colorplan board, which is milled in the Lake District. To Tim’s mind, “Colorplan sets new standards in making a positive contribution back to the environment. It is eco-friendly, recyclable, biodegradable and FSC certified. For every tree felled three are planted”.

The company’s environmental ethos is well illustrated on its new contemporary Love Where You Live range, which provides retailers with the facility to order location-specific designs in small quantities. The collection spans a number of different design looks that can incorporate a specific town, village or region’s name, according to the retailer’s request.

These cards are being hand-foiled in Bluebell 33’s own workshop in Weybridge, in Surrey, where the business is based. “We will continue to invest in this facility through 2019,” reveals Tim. “I am really excited about the flexibility this gives our creative process. We can ‘print to demand’ and minimise wastage, design and deliver smaller quantities for quirky occasions as customers demand. Love Where You Live ticks many boxes for our independent retailers – exclusive, personalised, not available online, made in Great Britain, great quality and green.”

Sally Matson, owner of Red Card in Petworth is among the big fans of Bluebell 33’s new collection, seeing it as one of the product highlights of 2019. (https://www.pgbuzz.net/hot-launches-sally-matson-owner-of-red-card-petworth-reveals-her-pick-of-the-new-crop/)

In addition to the greeting card designs, the Love Where You Live collection also encompasses notebooks, coasters, mugs and cushions options.
