WHAT’S HOT in Little Paperie, Ashbourne?

Little Paperie is a small independent card and gift shop located in the Peak District town of Ashbourne. Here the shop’s co-owners, Lucy Sticka and Heidi Richardson (who are also card publishers) reveal some of their current best sellers.

Everyday

Mini Cards from Lagom

“Always a winner. Lovely simple designs where the sentiment says it all. Perfect as little notecards to cheer people up or just to say hello. Our customers tend to buy two or three at a time as they are great to stock up on for as and when you might need a card.”

Cute

Jamboree from Paper Salad

“We love the embossed finishes and gorgeous colours. They are really eye-catching and as ever from the publisher, always lovely quality too.”

Humour

Holy Flaps from Redback Cards

We do have to keep a few of these tucked away! We get lots of laughs at these in the shop as I think most people can relate to them!

Contemporary

Concertina Collection from Stormy Knight

“We recently started stocking these cards and they have gone down a ‘storm’, especially the new Concertina Collection. The designs are so lovely and our customers love buying something a little bit different. They fold out with a big message inside and look so beautiful!”

Children’s

Snapshot from Little Paperie

“Our own range of Snapshot animals have been selling really well. We kept the design quite simple so the paintings stood out more and people always comment on the eyes of the animals! We also offer them personalised, which has proved very popular.”

Ancillary

Prism Candles from Paddywax

“These candles look and smell amazing. The best bit it is that all the vessels the candles are in are also re-usable. So when the candle has gone you can use them as a cute little vase too!”
