The value of networking at industry events will be there for all to see on Wrendale Designs’ stand at Spring Fair next month with the leading company launching a range of greeting cards, prints and stationery based featuring the artwork of illustrator Sally Swannell.
Hannah Dale, founder and creative force behind Wrendale Designs reveals that it was as a result of “chatting at The Henries last year” that led to the new arrangement which sees Wrendale producing products featuring Sally’s signature style artwork under licence.
Recalling the conversation at last October’s awards event that kickstarted the new working Hannah said: “We both agreed that a collaboration would be a great idea – we have all of the infrastructure in place now and it will allow Sally to focus on producing more of her beautiful work. We are so pleased to be working with her.”
As a trained natural history illustrator, Sally has been a successful artist/designer for well over 15 years, publishing greeting cards and other products under her own steam.
Her work, known for its distinctive colour palette is influenced by the English countryside, New England and Northern European subjects.
Wrendale will debut with an inaugural Sally Swannell collection of 57 greeting cards, framed prints as well as some stationery, but there are plans to translate her artwork onto mugs and textiles.
The announcement of this collaboration coincides with Wrendale Designs welcoming Lisa Marcuccio as its first ever head of sales. Well known to many in the trade, Lisa joins Wrendale at this exciting time in the company’s development, having headed up the sales side of Really Good and Soul for several years.
In addition to Wrendale’s new greeting card designs, the Lincolnshire-based company, known for Hannah Dale’s wildlife imagery is also expanding into gardening and pet products.
Wrendale Designs will be showing on stand Hall 3, Stand R10 at the Spring Fair (February 4-8, NEC).
