CoCo by Rachel Hare debuts as new Belly Button sub-brand

CocopicRachel Hare, founder of Belly Button Designs is acknowledged as one of the leading creative forces in the greeting card industry, yet up until now, her name has never featured on any of the products the company has produced. Debuting at Top Drawer this month is CoCo by Rachel Hare, a new upmarket sub-brand the logo for which includes her name, based on hand-written script by Rachel as a personal sign off.

The new upmarket CoCo by Rachel Hare collection, joins the existing Belly Button ranges as well as those from its sister giftwrappings and giftware strand, Bubble.

Magical and mystical motifs feature strongly in CoCo.

Rachel, who has created many Henries award-winning and revered card ranges under the Belly Button brand said that the formation of the new CoCo by Rachel Hare brand gives her even greater creative freedom to pursue greeting card range ideas that perhaps would not fit into the company’s existing brand identity.

“CoCo allows me to go wild and explore; to push design with current trends for flamboyance and escapism,” summed up Rachel.

The inaugural CoCo collection includes lavish designs of on-trend unicorns, jellyfish, mermaids, peacocks, feathers, in many rich jewel tones, enhanced by hand-scripted captions.

Rachel said that the new brand and debut collection has been curated with independent retailers in mind. “We really want to support our independent retail customers who have got us to where we are today,” Rachel told PG Buzz.

This year also sees further exciting developments from the main Belly Button Design brand, which has adopted a new refreshed logo as well as an expanded offer from Bubble, the giftwrappings and giftware company that launched two years ago.

CoCo by Rachel Hare will make its official debut on the publisher’s stand (X 53) at the Top Drawer exhibition, which takes place 14-16 January at London’s Olympia.
