The Winners of The Calies 2017 Have Been Revealed

Today (29 November) was a date to remember, as the winners of the first ever Calies, UK Calendar Awards were revealed at a well attended awards event held at the historic Stationers’ Hall, in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, London.

Among the delighted winners were Allan and Bertram, Allsorted, Andrews McMeel UK, Carousel Calendars, The Eco-Friendly Card Co, Flame Tree Publishing, Moving Stationery, Pomegranate, Portico Designs, Roger la Borde, Rose Calendars, teNeues, Turnowsky and Universe Publishing.

The Calies, the successor to the National Calendar Awards, were organised by Max Publishing, with the support from the calendar and diary sector. The award categories recognised and rewarded excellence right across the spectrum – from retail calendar titles to B2B bespoke creations; diaries to Advents.

The award ceremony was hosted by comedian Tania Edwards with Danilo’s founder Laurence Prince and BrownTrout managing director, Jack Straw sharing their insights on the market in two snappy pre-awards talks.

It was an especially emotional evening for Gary Beck, co-founder of Calendar Club/Carousel Calendars and Danilo’s founder Laurence Prince, both of whom were presented with a prestigious Calendar Ambassador Award.

The Calies were judged by a panel comprising retail buyers, marketers and design experts.
