Entries to The Calies UK Calendar Awards flood in

So many publishers of calendars and producers of diaries and Advents practiced what they preach and ‘saved the date’ to enter The Calies 2017, the UK Calendar Awards as packages and parcels have been arriving at PG’s offices in good time for the entry deadline.

20170906_173640However, for those publishers who have only just got ‘back to school’, there is still time to enter. The official deadline for entering is next Monday (September 11), but there are a few days grace to allow for summer holiday returners.

The Calies, organised and owned by Max Publishing (home to PG), make their debut this year, culminating at an awards event in November. Formerly known as the National Calendar Awards (NCA), Max Publishing is looking to build on the long heritage of the NCA. The Calies will recognise excellence in the calendar, Advent calendar and diaries sector, including retail, charity and corporate (B2B) titles across a broad reach of subject matter and formats.

“The awards are free to enter to enable companies of all sizes to participate – and the entry form is as simple as can be to complete,” assured Warren Lomax, joint managing director of Max Publishing.

The retail award categories will be judged by a panel of retail buyers while industry experts and designers will form part of the judging panel for the B2B award categories.

All winners will be unveiled at a late afternoon/early evening event at the glorious Stationers’ Hall in London that will be attended by publishers, retailers and suppliers.

“It is wonderful that The Calies are being so warmly supported right from the off, with a strong roster of sponsors and supporters in their inaugural year,” added Warren. The headline sponsors of The Calies are Danilo, Calendar Club, Carousel Calendars, Eight Days A Week and Rose Calendars. Meanwhile the portfolio of The Calies’ official supporters is growing by the day and currently includes Andrews McMeel Publishing, Avonside Publishing, BrownTrout, Emma Ball, Graphique de France, Pomegranate, Portico Designs, Pyramid International and Tallon.

All entries should be sent to The Calies 2017, Max Publishing, United House, North Road, N7 9DP. Call Warren Lomax with any queries on 0207 700 6740.
