Owners of the London-based greeting card and stationery company Betty Etiquette have turned their hand, quite literally, to the world of publishing with new book Modern Lettering.
The beautiful hard-cover workbook has been a half-year labour of love for husband and wife team, Rebecca and David Cahill Roots, and is sub-titled ‘A Guide to Modern Calligraphy and Hand Lettering’. It promises to bring together all the ‘best bits’ of the brand’s calligraphy, brush script and modern lettering workshops.
“We’ve had our heads down for the last six months, putting the finishing touches to this gorgeous new book,” Rebecca, the creative director of the business told PG Buzz just before the book hit the shelves at the end of last week.
The book, priced at £14.99, published by Batsford, received a warm welcome close to home as Rebecca launched the book with a signing session in Honeytbourne’s card and gift shop in Ladywell, South London, near to Rebecca and David’s home.
Rebecca is also fronting a series of creative workshops this summer and autumn at a number of venues.

When it launched, Betty Etiquette produced a great video to inspire people to send cards that deserves a rewatch:
