PG Live Action: Follow your nose to Cherry Orchard

They may say that it is ‘the eye that buys’ where greeting cards are concerned, but Cherry Orchard’s latest range appeals to another sense too.

Debuting at PG Live (Stand 239) is a brand new range of fragranced greeting cards called Scent With Love. In what has been a labour of love, the publisher has been working behind the scenes with one of the country’s leading independent perfumers to create the range of cards which includes inserts infused with a delicate scent of rose and vanilla.

Revealing the inspiration behind Scent With Love, Cherry Orchard’s managing director Jackie Collins told PG Buzz: “The inspiration comes from two amazing women – my Mum and Jo Malone. My Mum has had a lifelong love of roses and their scent; in the garden where I grew up she had 100 different rose bushes. It was when I heard Jo Malone speak about how she was able to create her fabulous fragrances that I knew I wanted to create the range, but the scent would have to be just right.”

What followed was a quest to find the best perfumer, which led her to The Cotswold Perfumery, known for its organic approach and fine fragrances.

“We then worked with our printers and a maestro from Heidelberg to perfect the groundbreaking technology that means that the delicate fragrance will last for a long time, making it a perfect keepsake card,” added Jackie. The plans for the range were kept underwraps until last week when it was launched to the publisher’s full time salesforce.

The Scent with Love collection comprises 40 designs covering female open, ages and relations designs across price codes 75, 90 and 150.

The cards, which are cello wrapped, are available as a package showcased in a special pink spinner display (or sold separately) with a specially designed PoS header.
