With just under two weeks to go PG Live HQ is a hive of activity as everyone is putting together the final touches to make this year’s PG Live the biggest and best one ever!

The two day show, which is free for all trade visitors, takes place from Tuesday 6 – Wednesday 7 June 2017 at Islington’s Business Design Centre in London. PG Live is well-known for its buzzing atmosphere, friendly vibe and a whole host of extra touches which make the show so special. The entire PG team ensures that everyone is looked after and having the very best show possible. But just what is it that makes PG Live tick?

Free two-course lunch

They say ‘there’s no such thing as a free lunch’ but at PG Live there really is a free lunch. For everyone! Simply head to the Gallery Hall between 1pm and 3pm on both days for a choice of delicious hot or cold dishes or sandwiches. Make sure you check out the fabulous room decorations from Lagom Design while you’re there!

The tea trolleys

The famous PG Live tea trolleys circulate all day and there are also well signposted tea and coffee spots (the latter thanks to Instawrap). And it’s all free!

The opening night party

The fantastic post-show party takes place on Tuesday 6 June up in the Gallery Hal from 5:45pm. It is open to all visitors and exhibitors. And best of all, the drinks are on us!

Gold, Silver and Sunshine tickets

These much-coveted tickets are sent to The Retas Award (greeting card retailer awards) winners and finalists, giving them a certain value to spend with any exhibitor at PG Live! The Gold tickets are worth £150 and are given to the 2016 Retas award-winners. Silver tickets are worth £75 and given to all Retas finalists in 2016. And new in 2017 are the Sunshine tickets – these are worth £75 and sent to all 2017 Retas finalists. (Thanks to The Imaging Centre who print these tickets and GF Smith for the board). In addition there are vouchers for The Greats finalists and winners (worth £50), plus Cardgains members also receive a £30 voucher to spend with Cardgains’ suppliers.

The card dresses

One of the major talking points of the show each year is the card dresses. Theatrical costumier, Sharon Harvey makes the dresses for PG Live from greeting cards and wrap sent in by all the exhibitors. This year she is taking her inspiration from Venice for the colour-themed dresses. See Sharon in the video below talking about the dresses.

Free to attend

Admission to the show is free to greeting card buyers, retailers, wholesalers, retail agents, overseas distributors and anyone wishing to buy or licence designs. If you haven’t registered yet – make sure you do so at the PG Live website.
